Competitive Rating Criteria
Never = 0 Often = 2 Usually = 3 Consistently = 4 Always = 5
A score higher than 42 is recommended to play on the competitive small-ball net.
Attention to Play:
Player is ready and aware of all play going on around them ______
Able to play within rules (Ball handling, net, etc.) ______
Ball Handling/ Passing:
Passes regularly from middle or back row to front ______
Frequently ball alive on hard serves or other balls ______
Energy/ Sustained Effort:
Regularly demonstrates self-initiated effort and consistency ______
Attends to team play and ball position ______
Movement:
Often jumps, moves side-to-side to keep ball in play ______
Moves freely and energetically in water ______
Moves toward the ball between offense and defense with
good pool coverage. Covering for out of position teammates ______
Net Play:
Often successful in digging the ball out of the net ______
Serving:
Consistently serves with high percentage of in-play balls ______
Serves with speed/accuracy to score, not just to get over the net ______
Total ______
A score of 39 is 70% of possible score and needed to be safe and competitive.
Subject to re-evaluation in the future if circumstances change.
